Our Amazing Gym members

One of our gym members ‘Ed Carter’ needs our help. This is a little about Ed and his efforts. Here at the Hampshire Fitness Centre, we are true believers in helping our community out using fitness endeavours. We are reaching out to you our community to help Ed and his reason for doing such great things for others.

In November 2021, Ed’s Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, sadly he passed away just 6 weeks later in January 2022. In that time, the care he received from the Severn Hospice was above and beyond. The support and expertise of staff at the Severn Hospice allowed Guy to spend his final days at home, surrounded by family.

In April this year Ed will be running the Highland Ultra in support of the Severn Hospice. A 125km ultra marathon across the Knoydart peninsula in Scotland; the Highland Ultra will see Ed scale rocky mountains over 3 days. No stranger to Ultra’s, Ed ran the Gobi March in 2019, a 250km footrace across Mongolia, so he’s hoping the Scottish Highlands will be a breeze….we’ll see!

All the money Ed raises will go directly to the Severn Hospice to help support others in need. Severn Hospice is with families from the moment they’re referred to its care for as long as they need it, and it does this every day, all day for anyone in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who needs that help.It does this for them for free, but it is not without cost and it can’t happen without you. For every £1 you donate, the hospice will spend 88p directly on care – and use the remaining 12p to make another £1. Last year, all those individual donations meant the hospice could be there when it mattered for 3,000 local families.

After reading Ed’s story we will be placing a donation… If you can spare any sort of contribution to this great cause, we would be so grateful.

Thank You
